Christchurch City Council testing houses to suit flooding

In a New Zealand primarily, Christchurch City Council is by choice flooding a home to test new protecting technology.

The pilot is among the actual options the Christchurch City Council’s considering to protect vulnerable homes.

John Mackie from Christchurch City Council says while there generally risks, they’re largely confident to the new technology.

“We have different design standards, uncommon soil types…yeah there is an element of potential risk that this may not work. “

This task costs about 15 to 20 thousand dollar bills per home. And just who synthetic the bill if the scheme proves to be successful hasn’t yet been worked out.
